The beatification cause

The beatification of Antoni Gaudí

Antoni Gaudí has been Venerable since 14 April 2025, when Pope Francis approved the decree recognising his heroic virtues. For his beatification, one step remains: the approval of a miracle attributed to his intercession, currently under examination in Rome. The cause has been driven since 1992 by the Association for the Beatification of Antoni Gaudí, presided over by José Manuel Almuzara.

Frequently asked questions

Will Antoni Gaudí be beatified?

Everything points that way. Gaudí was declared Venerable on 14 April 2025, when Pope Francis approved the decree recognising his heroic virtues. The one remaining step is the approval of a miracle attributed to his intercession — Rome is currently examining one.
