José Manuel Almuzara Pérez

José Manuel Almuzara Pérez was born in Nador, Morocco, in 1952, along the Mediterranean, during the Spanish protectorate era. He completed his high school education at INEM Milá i Fontanals and pursued his architectural studies at the Higher Technical School of Architecture in Barcelona. He has been a practicing architect since March 1977, working independently and for a decade also as a professor.

Professional Experience

  • 1992 – 2023: President, Association for the Beatification of Antoni Gaudí. Led efforts for the beatification of the architect Antoni Gaudí, focusing on the dissemination of his spiritual and artistic dimensions through conferences, exhibitions, and publications. Also involved in collecting testimonies of favors received through Gaudí’s intercession.
  • 2007 – 2013: Secretary, Friends of Gaudí Association. Served during the centenary of Gaudí’s birth.
  • 2013 – 2015: Vice-President, Friends of Gaudí Association.
  • Current: Board Member, Gaudí Center Madrid; Collaborator, The Gaudí Research Institute, Colonia Güell; since 2016, Ambassador of the Gaudí Project for Rancagua, Chile.

  • Curated and contributed to book editions and catalogues; organized exhibitions in prestigious venues including the European Parliament in Brussels, Milan, Rome, Vedano Olona (Italy), Rio de Janeiro, Lima and Piura (Peru), Bogotá, Santiago de Chile, Pamplona, San Fernando, Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz), Barcelona, and Madrid.
